"Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent." - Victor Hugo

Welcome to the Lueck Piano Studio. My private piano studio is located in my home in Green Bay, Wisconsin. As a student, you will learn music theory, technique, music history, sight reading, ear training, musicianship, and music literacy. Feel free to download and print any of the documents on this site or to leave any feedback. I welcome your ideas and suggestions.

MISSION

My goal as a teacher is to make practice more enjoyable for my students. While I teach all ages and skill levels, I specialize in teaching beginners ages 5-13. What sets my piano studio apart from all others is a desire to find the music that inspires each individual student.

How to choose a piano teacher:

Some say you get what you pay for. Some always aim to get a bargain or be as thrifty as possible. While both have their place, when shopping around for a music instructor, how do you know if you are getting quality lessons? Below are some things to consider.

What are the certifications of the teacher? Does she have a degree in music or education?

Is she able to teach all ages or all skill levels?

Are lessons private or group? If private, are some group lessons offered?

What opportunities does she offer for performance?

Does she teach music theory, technique, ear training, sight reading, or composition?

How long has she been teaching?

What community involvement does she have with musical organizations?

Does her teaching style complement my child's temperament, disposition, and personality?

There is a broad range of pricing for local piano teachers. Remember, if you start your child off with a teacher just because the rates are extremely affordable, and later discover your child has great talent or wishes to continue lessons long-term, it will be difficult to un-learn any bad habits or techniques not built into the first valuable years of instruction. A qualified teacher will set the foundation for solid performance, even if your child is not going to continue as a professional musician. This does not mean the teacher with the highest rates is the most qualified. Ask questions, and don't blindly pick a teacher based on the cost of lessons. You may be surprised at how many of the most competent teachers also have competitive rates.

Thank you for considering me as a piano teacher. As a lover of all things musical, I hope you will find a deeper appreciation of music and the beautiful sound of the piano through my studio.
